Frequently asked questions

What materials do you use in your jewelry?
I mainly work with stainless steel, alloy metals, and sterling silver. You’ll find more details about whether a piece may tarnish, or the types of natural stones, crystals, or beads used, in the description beneath each item.
But don’t worry, since I'm personally allergic to most metals, I make sure every single piece is hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.

Do you offer custom or personalized jewelry?
Yes! I offer all kinds of custom jewelry, from necklaces and bracelets to pieces not yet listed on the website, like hair accessories, wire rings, earrings, or truly anything your heart desires.
If you'd like a custom piece to match something you've previously purchased, I offer 15% off as a thank-you for your continued support too❣

Do you offer resizing services?
Yes! Just ship it back or drop it off and let me know where you'd like the piece to sit (higher, lower, tighter, looser). I’ll resize it to fit your style and comfort perfectly❤

What’s the deal with shipping and delivery?
I offer tracked shipping for a flat rate within Canada, ensuring maximum security for your order. For international shipping, rates vary depending on your location, I know it can be a bit trickier and more expensive, but I do my best to keep it fair.
If you're in Calgary or the surrounding areas, I also provide local pick-up and drop-off services for your convenience.
Prefer untracked shipping to save on costs? Just reach out! I'm happy to chat about the options and find what works best for you!

Dunya Beads was born by the shores of the Aegean Sea, where the sun melts into the water and stories are told through every wave, breeze, and bead. From the earliest days of my childhood, I’ve been creating art with my mother my first teacher, my inspiration. She taught me that jewelry is more than adornment; it’s memory, emotion, and love, delicately threaded together.

When I left our seaside town to pursue my education, I found myself clinging to a bracelet she had made for me. In moments of longing, I recreated the feeling of those sun-soaked afternoons we spent together making beads in a little café by the beach channeling them into new designs crafted far from home.

Jewelry has always been my quiet way of sayingI care. Gifting a handmade piece has felt like gifting a part of myselfof my roots, my story, my Izmir sunsets. With gentle encouragement from the people I love, I launched Dunya Beads to share that feeling with the world.

Each piece is handmade either by me or my mother, a beautiful echo of our bond. Despite being continents apart, we still somehow create with the same touch, our hearts speaking the same language through our craft. There’s something a little tragicomic, a little magical, in that.

Dunya Beads is my love letter to home, to my mother, and to the power of meaningful jewelry. Whether you wear our pieces yourself or pass them on to someone special, I hope they carry warmth, memory, and a bit of that Aegean sun.
